[he moves to stand up, gesturing for her to follow. MOVIE TIME.]

She follows, still taking everything in as they walk around.]

[AT HIS LIVING ROOM he goes towards his tv.]

Hm... I wonder what we have we can watch-

[what kind of movies were out around 2002-]

[Spirited Away was 2001...

She glances at the movie collection.]

Oh! Is that Spirited Away? I haven't seen that one yet.

Really?

[he blinks, turning the dvd over in his hand.]

...I guess we can watch that.

Do you want to watch it?

[ponytailprince]

O...of course I do.

[but... whatever she wants.

he's moving to get it ready, taking it out of the case and putting it in for their viewing pleasure.]

[Izumi's quiet as she settles down in front of the television, ready for the movie to start.]

[IT'S ALL SET!!

he walks back over to the couch, sitting with her....

...a little... ways away.... yeah...]

Do you... need anything else? [DRINKS? FOOD?]

[She looks at him and shakes her head.]

No. I'm fine right now.

[okay....

MOVIE STARTS!

and he's just trying to focus on it. gosh it's really hard with izumi here though, just because he keeps glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.

....stupid crush.]

[But Izumi has no problem focusing in on the movie. She's excited to see it for the first time, and so thankfully for Kouji, she doesn't notice him glancing her way.]

[8U.... izumiiiii! he's so nervous here, and this isn't like him at all!

okay just, be cool kouji, act cool.

if she's so focused then she won't notice that he... scoots a little closer to her every few moments, eventually he's right next to her... er... yeah...]

[Okay, well now she's noticing something's up. She gives him a sideways glance, but doesn't say anything. He's sitting so close, which is itself unusual. He had to have been getting closer on purpose, right?

Finally, she looks at him, not accusing, just...curious.]

Is everything alright, Kouji?

[MAN UP KOUJI!

....god this is hard.]

I... um..

[he swallows thickly, his heart beating in his chest but he turns to look at her.]

...I wanted to also tell you I think I.... [this is way harder than fighting the royal knights, honestly.]

[The movie is officially forgotten. Izumi has turned to look completely at him and she just looks stunned. Completely and utterly shocked. When her brain has a moment or two to process, her cheeks heat up and turn pink.]

Wait. You mean... you like me?

[Heavy emphasis on the like. She needs to be sure that she's understanding him correctly.]

[of course, his face is insanely red right now as well. it was why he called her over here in the first place, but it just took him this long to finally say something.]

I....

[he was never really good with talking, or even expressing his feelings, so this was so difficult for him. he couldn't say much else, he just nodded, looking down now.]

[Izumi gulped and nervously twisted her hands in her lap. It wasn't that she hadn't been thinking about something like this...but to actually have it happen? It was hard to take in. She'd be under the impression that she'd never be anything but a friend, and even that had been a difficult accomplishment.

Oh, but geez. She needed to say something too, didn't she?]

...Grazie. Um, thank you.

[yeah even the friends thing was hard, but maybe that was because he never really considered her a friend to begin with? even back in the digital world they had their moments.

and they were older now so-...]

And you? [does she feel the same?]

[Oh, wow. This was hard. Especially with the thought of all the "I told you so's coming from the community.

But slowly, very slowly, she nods her head.]

[at that his heart starts to beat even faster, he can barely handle it. the damn community and saying they'll get together, he had this planned for a while, they didn't all have to go and rub it in his face!

he was never the sappy or romantic type however, to him it's even a miracle he got this far.... and well...]

So what... what should we do then? [date?!]

[She bites her lip and shrugs.]

I have no idea, actually.

[And she doesn't. What do people who liked each other do, anyway?]

[oh.... well that's a little more anticlimactic than he though.

he sighs a little, a hand reaching up to tug on his bangs as he thought about what to do.]

Great....

[well, he might as well be the one to suggest it.]

Go out with me. [he mutters it a little, but enough for her to hear.]

[She nods again.]

Mhm. Okay.

[And with her face glowing red, she sets her hand down on the small space in between the two of them. She isn't sure what she wants, but part of her is really hoping he'll hold it.]

[...well, kouji may be someone that has a hard time with his own emotions, but he's not oblivious. he knows what she wants and... he slowly reaches out to her, his hand touching her own and eventually he moves to lace their fingers together.

aah... actually holding hands, this was so weird! but he really liked it too.]
